Brad joined RMG in 2014 as a Customer Service Advisor and within a year, he was offered the opportunity to take a secondment in a property manager role. He enjoyed working as a property manager and the role soon became permanent, with Brad managing a portfolio of properties in the Manchester area.
“No two days are the same in my job! It’s challenging but rewarding at the same time.
The thing I love about RMG first and foremost is the support structure. I’m based in the Northwich office and the support from other teams makes the job that much easier. I left RMG briefly for around 8 months during the pandemic for a more local portfolio, however, it didn’t take me long to realise that I missed working for RMG, particularly the support from other departments, which I think is quite unique in property management companies.
There’s also loads of opportunity for progression and training, whether that be the DMU master's degree, support with IRPM, or even an excel course – training is always available. I’ve even had the opportunity to attend mental health first aid training, which not only benefited me professionally but personally too.
My advice to any prospective employee would be to make the most of your opportunity here. You’ll get out of the company what you put in. The opportunities are there in abundance if you want them and work hard for them.”
"When I started with RMG in 2019, I started as a Customer Advisor, within 7 months I progressed to Customer Service Centre (CSC) Admin and eventually went on to study Level 3 Team Leading. Once completed, I was then given the opportunity to manage a brand-new team - CSC Scotland - alongside management of my old role CSC Admin. One of the things I love about my role is helping and supporting members of staff. Since starting in 2019 it is always something I have been keen to do, even outside of my roles of a Customer Service Advisor and CSC Administrator I would always reach out or help anyone that approached me.
Hard work is never missed at RMG, if you want to progress and make it known to RMG, you will be supported to make this happen. Given my experience with RMG the advice I would give to any newcomers is to focus and work hard, as it won’t go unnoticed."
"I really enjoy my role at RMG. I am constantly challenged and have a great team around me who support me in my development and help me grow. I’ve been with RMG since May 2022 where I started in client banking. I then progressed to the service charge accounts team where I was provided with in-depth training. My goal is to progress to a senior client accountant. RMG always support career progression and development which was shown in their support with my AAT studies. RMG is a great place to work."
“There are many career development opportunities available at RMG, whether you want to gain experience in other Departments, attend training courses or work towards professional qualifications. Having previously acquired a LLB Hons via University, upon having joined RMG, I was given the opportunity to study CiLEX Law, IOSH and NEBOSH throughout my employment – all fully funded.
The management team are keen to support your development and encourage you to think about your career goals so they can help you to succeed, and this allows them to invest in their people. I really believe that having the options to study does accelerate your drive to achieve your end goal.”
“RMG was my first office job and although I had experience in customer services, this role was completely new for me. Initially, I found it a little daunting but I received a very friendly welcome and settled in quickly. Everyone on my team was very supportive and offered help with anything I struggled with.
After 18 months in the contact centre, I was ready for another challenge so I talked to my team leader who was very supportive. I was put on a project team and given more responsibility until a role came up in Business Support, which I was invited to apply for."
"After working in Business Support for 12 months, my personal circumstances changed & combined with some other factors, I decided to step down from the role. My manager & colleagues supported me completely, during what was a very difficult period. Upon returning to work, I was asked to help work with the Contractors Team in reducing some of their backlog.
I was immediately made to feel welcome & thoroughly enjoyed the role. After working as support for a month or two, I requested to move full-time onto the Contractors Team & 12 months later, I can honestly say, I’ve never been happier in any working environment.
My advice for anyone joining the business would be that the job is what you make it. If you want to progress, the opportunities are there and it is down to you as an individual to put yourself forward. Length of service doesn’t matter; it is how you carry yourself in your current role and your attitude towards work that matters. I’d also add, the business is really supportive with people & they’ll always try to do what’s best for you as a person.”
"Before joining RMG, I had started working on my AAT qualification as I was interested in starting a career in accounting. I started working for RMG in September 2019 in an entry-level role as a Finance Support Analyst with little prior experience in finance. I was given lots of training and support by my manager and the rest of the team and began learning how to resolve financial queries.
RMG supported me with Intermediate and Advanced Excel courses which provided me with skills that helped within the role, and they also supported me with studying towards the ACCA qualification."
.
"In March 2022, I was promoted to Senior Accounts Assistant working in the Finance Scotland team that was being formed at the time. This involved learning new processes and new systems whilst also providing support and training to the rest of the team.
Recently, I have been promoted to Finance Support Team leader, managing both the Finance Scotland and Finance Support North team. I am enjoying this new challenge and learning every day and will be starting on a leadership course this year which will hopefully help me develop further in this role.
RMG is a great company to work for which provides lots of training and opportunities for career development. The people here are friendly and approachable and will always provide help and support where needed."
